Skunk Drunk has experienced many changes since its beginnings as two kids writing songs to amuse their friends. It all started when Joe and Tom met in 1978 while playing little league. After high school, they joined a mens softball league. It was after these softball games that they began writing amusing songs. These songs became most sought after at partys. Encouraged by their friends to "take it on the road", Tom and Joe played their first show in Feb. of '94 at the now defunct Melly's Dugout. The show consisted mostly of cover tunes and stand-up comedy. Comedy Made way for new songs and also a name, Skunk Drunk was born! April of '94 marked the first show under the new name.
Realizing that a full band would enhance their songs as well as their live shows, Skunk Drunk added a bass player and later, a drummer. Although they never actually performed as a four piece, it was a foundation for the band to build on. During this time, Skunk Drunk performed locally including a weekly gig at the Boiler Room. A year later, the band found itself performing as a two piece once again.
John Kuhlken and Wade Maurer were recruited from The Macananys to sit-in on a demo tape project. Practices turned into shows, The demo turned into a CD, and John Kuhlken turned into Roy Stewart, Who now rounds out the line-up.
After several months af post production work, "One Trick Pony Keg" has finally become reality and was released in January of '97.
